They gave the car some visual modifications, both inside and out, but like the Capri, left the powertrain untouched.

Yup.

I’d much rather have that other car that ASC McLaren did.

You can argue that it’s a better convertible than Ford’s in house one, though it lacks a backseat. I’d like an ASC Capri, since that’s the only way you could ever get a Capri convertible...the Mustang a little less so.

My neighbors had one of these when I was a kid and I always loved it. If I were to buy a Fox, it would be this one.

I found of these in the junkyard once. It was all there, but got caught in a flood. They’re great cars if you want to be different with a Fox build, but don’t really do anything for me.

I’d be more interested to hear what McLaren enthusiasts think about this oddity.

I would buy one just to go to McLaren meets.

Personally, I would prefer the McLaren M81. Because orange.

I knew a guy with one of these years ago. He was a detailer and the car was perfect with really nice two-tone orange over black paint. I’m an unapologetic Foxstang fan and thought it was interesting, but convertibles do nothing for me so I remember thinking I’d rather it was a hatch.

In Europe, this was the closest thing we ever got to a Fox Body.

It came with the exact same image and split fanbase as the Fox, but we never got anything close to the ASC McLaren.
